Alchemy Factory – Crafting Chains for Wood and Limestone (Optimize Factory Layout)

Published January 2, 2026

Mastering the production lines in Alchemy Factory can be overwhelming at first, especially when you start moving from basic raw materials to complex industrial components. This guide breaks down the essential crafting chains for Wood and Limestone to help you optimize your factory layout.

1. Wood Processing: From Logs to Gears

Wood is your foundational resource. To move beyond basic building, you need to process it through multiple stages to create mechanical parts like pulleys and gears.

  • Plank Production: Start by feeding Bois (Wood) into a Scie à format (Table Saw) to produce Planches (Planks).
  • Mechanical Components: * Combine Planches with Corde (Rope) in an Assembleur (Assembler) to craft a Poulie en bois (Wooden Pulley).
    • Process Planches in a Meuleuse (Grinder) to create a Grand rouage (Large Gear).
    • Take that Grand rouage and put it through a Processeur (Processor) to get a Petit rouage (Small Gear).
  • Charcoal Chain: By placing Planches into a Fourneau (Furnace) equipped with a Creuset (Crucible) and fuel, you produce Charbon de bois (Charcoal). Grinding this charcoal will yield Poudre de charbon (Charcoal Powder), a vital ingredient for later stages.

2. Limestone & Stone: Building the Foundation

Limestone is the gateway to construction materials like bricks and mortar. This chain is slightly more complex as it involves chemical transitions.

Basic Stone & Sand

  • Stone Creation: Feed Calcaire (Limestone) into a Meuleuse (Grinder) to get Pierre (Stone).
  • Mortar and Sand: * Pierre processed in a Processeur (Processor) creates Mortier (Mortar).
    • Pierre processed in a Meuleuse (Grinder) creates Sable (Sand).

Advanced Chemical Processing

  • Limewater Production: Smelt Pierre in a Fourneau/Creuset to get Chaux vive (Quicklime). Grind this into Poudre de chaux vive (Quicklime Powder), then use an Extracteur (Extractor) to produce Eau de chaux (Limewater).
  • Clay and Bricks: * Combine Sable (Sand) and Poudre de charbon (Charcoal Powder) in an Assembleur (Assembler) to create Argile solide (Solid Clay).
    • Argile solide can be ground into Poudre d’argile (Clay Powder) or smelted in a Four à céramique (Ceramic Kiln) to produce Brique (Brick).
