Say less. This guide is your crash course in the basics. We’re gonna explain all the weird terms, walk you through the core gameplay loop, and give you the pro-strats you need to start hitting those jackpots and surviving your deadlines.
The Lingo: A Quick Glossary
The game throws a lot of unique terms at you. Here’s a quick and dirty glossary so you know what’s up.
- Coins: Your main currency. You use these to spin the machine and, more importantly, to pay your debts at the ATM.
- Tickets: A second currency you use to buy Lucky Charms from the shop.
- Lucky Charms: These are your items, your build-enablers, your everything. They give you passive bonuses and special abilities that let you break the game.
- Drawers: The storage units for your Lucky Charms. Super important for later.
- Luck: A stat that influences how often good symbols appear. It caps out at 15.
- 666: The run-killer. Hit this pattern, and all the money you’ve made in the current round goes poof. After Deadline #6, it takes all your money. Big yikes.
- The Door: Your way out of this capitalist nightmare… maybe.
The Core Gameplay Loop: Spin, Win, Pay, Survive
Your one and only goal in CloverPit is to pay your debt before the time runs out.
- Deadlines and Rounds: The game is broken into Deadlines. For each Deadline, you have 3 Rounds to earn enough money to pay the required debt at the ATM.
- The ATM: This is where you pay up. If you hit the debt goal before your 3 rounds are up, you’re golden. You move on to the next, higher-stakes Deadline.
- Bonus Tickets: If you pay off your debt with rounds to spare, you get 4 bonus tickets for each leftover round. Finishing early is a fire way to get more charms.
- Failure: If you fail to meet the deadline… well, the game is called CloverPit for a reason. You get dropped into the pit. Game over.
Lucky Charms: Your Key to Breaking the Game
You’re not going to win by just spinning the reels. Your success depends entirely on the Lucky Charms you collect. These are the items that create insane combos and get you those screen-filling numbers.
You can buy them from the shop with Tickets. If you don’t like what the shop is offering, you can spend some of your precious Coins to reroll the selection. Charms have a few main ways they activate:
- Triggers Randomly: These are your passive, RNG-based charms. They have a percentage chance to just pop off and do their thing at any time.
- Triggered by the Red Button: These are your active abilities. They only activate when you press the big red button on the machine, giving you full control over when you use them. These are clutch for strategic plays.
- X+ Patterns: These are your combo pieces. They either activate or get way stronger when you hit a certain number of patterns in a single spin. This is how you get those truly busted, exponential wins.
The Phone Call: Blessings and Curses
After you successfully complete each Deadline, the phone on the wall will ring. Answering it will give you a choice between a few buffs to help you in the next Deadline. But be warned: read the options carefully. Sometimes, a powerful buff will come with a nasty downside that could totally wreck your build. Choose wisely.
The Endgame: The Door and Endless Mode
Once you reach the final Deadline, the game will give you a key. At this point, you have a choice to make.
- Option 1: End the Run: You can use the key on the exit door. This will end your run, and you’ll get a score based on your performance.
- Option 2: Keep Going (Endless Mode): You can use the key on one of your Drawers. This will unlock it for future runs, allowing you to store a Lucky Charm there permanently. After using the key on a drawer, you can continue your run into Endless Mode, where the debts keep getting higher and you see how far you can push your build.
The Pro-Strat: Low-key, the main goal of your first few successful runs should be to unlock all four of your drawers. More storage means you can save more powerful charms, which makes starting future runs way easier. So, when you get that first key, our advice is to use it on a drawer and keep the run going.
Now you know the basics. Get in there, spin those reels, and pay off that debt. Good luck, and try not to end up in the pit.
