Getting Started: The Lost Jungle & The New Code

First things first, you need to get to the new island. The Lost Jungle is located northeast of Moosewood. It’s a massive new landmass; you can’t miss it.

And you know a new update means a new code. Before you do anything else, pop this in for a free reward.

• Code: Lost Jungle
• Reward: A free skin for the “Ruiners” (likely a rod or boat).
• How to Redeem: Press ‘M’ to open your menu, go to the “Codes” section, type in Lost Jungle, and hit Enter.

How to Find and Enter the Forgotten Temple

The main event of this update is the Forgotten Temple. Finding it is the first puzzle.

• The Location: On the Lost Jungle island, find the spearfishing crafting station. From there, go right and start climbing up the nearby rocks. You’ll find a rope leading down into a hole in the ground. Descend the rope, and you’ll find the entrance.
• The Temple Eye: As soon as you enter, talk to the female NPC inside. She will give you the Temple Eye, a new item that allows you to fast-travel back to the temple entrance at any time. This thing is clutch.

Your goal in the temple is to complete five trials to collect five runes, which will open the final gate.

The Forgotten Temple: All 5 Trial Walkthroughs

Here is the step-by-step guide to finding and beating every single trial.

Trial #1: The Glass Bridge

• How to Find It: From the temple entrance rope, go straight, take your first left, and then a right. You’ll see the first trial room.
• The Challenge: It’s a “guess the correct tile” glass bridge, just like in Squid Game. If you pick the wrong tile, you’ll take damage.
• The Cheese Strat: If you have the Advanced Glider, you can skip this entire puzzle. Just climb the tree at the start of the room, get to a high point, and simply glide all the way across to the end to collect your rune.

Trial #2: The Flood Escape

• How to Find It: Use your Temple Eye to teleport to the center. From the main gate, take the path to the right and follow it down. You’ll know you’re on the right track when you see sand. Hook another right, and you’ll see the entrance.
• The Challenge: It’s a parkour obby where water rises behind you, like in Flood Escape. You have to be fast.
• The Strat: This is a pure skill check. You just have to be good at parkour. The path is straightforward, but the rising water adds serious pressure. You can use a glider to make some of the jumps easier, but it’s not required.

Trial #3: The Maze

• How to Find It: Use the Temple Eye to teleport to the center. From the main gate, take a hard left. Follow that path and take another left to find the maze entrance.
• The Challenge: It’s a maze. Don’t touch the spikes on the walls, or you’ll get one-shotted.
• The Path: The path through the maze is: Right, Left, Right, Right, Left, Right, Left, go straight, then a final Right. This will lead you to the end where you can grab the rune.

Trial #4: The Moon Dial

• How to Find It: This trial is located right in the center of the temple, in front of the main sealed gate.
• The Challenge: You need to pull levers corresponding to the phases of the moon in the correct order.
• The Solution: First, use the sundial totems in the room to make it nighttime so the moon symbols on the floor appear. Then, you need to pull the levers in this exact order, from full moon to new moon:
  1. Full Moon
  2. Waning Gibbous (the mostly full one)
  3. Half Moon
  4. Crescent Moon
  5. New Moon (the empty one)

Trial #5: The Water Walk

• How to Find It: This room is right near the Trial #2 room. From the temple center, go right, but instead of going all the way down, take another right and then a left.
• The Challenge: It’s another parkour course over a pool of deadly water. Touching the water is usually an insta-kill.
• The Cheese Strat: This trial is currently bugged, and you can totally cheese it. Climb one of the pillars at the start of the room to its highest point. From there, you can glide out and land on top of the water’s surface. You won’t fall in. You can literally just walk or glide across the top of the water straight to the end to get the final rune.

The Final Gate: The Secret Moss Jar Fish

Once you have all five runes, return to the main gate and place them in their corresponding slots. The gate will open, revealing a hidden pool. This is the only place in the game where you can catch the new, secret boss fish: the Moss Jar and the even rarer Elder Moss Jar. These things are huge and look absolutely insane. Good luck catching one!

All New Rods in the Lost Jungle Update

This update also added four busted new rods.

• Vine Weaver Rod: A craftable rod made from materials found in the jungle like Driftwood and Vine. It’s a solid rod with great all-around stats.
• Toxic Spire Rod: Another craftable rod that requires rare toxic-themed materials. This is the only way to get the Poison enchantment.
• Elder Moss Gripper: The ultimate craftable rod from this update. You’ll need an Elder Moss Jaw, which is a rare drop from the new secret fish, a Mossy Core, and a Golden Sea Pearl. Its stats are fire, including a whopping 200% Luck boost.
• XSU’s Wind Elemental Rod: This is a secret quest rod. You need to get an extremely rare Shiny Bait Crate drop, take it to the “wing guy” at the top of the Frozen Summit, and complete his quest to get this legendary rod.
