Aight, so you’re exploring the massive, beautiful world of Ezo in Ghost of Yōtei, and you keep stumbling upon these weird little outdoor shrines surrounded by wolf and oni statues. These are Mountain Reliquaries, a super cool type of environmental puzzle scattered across the island.
Solving them is usually pretty quick, and the rewards are totally worth it. But if you’re not in the mood to play detective and just want that sweet loot, you’ve come to the right place. This guide is the no-BS cheat sheet to every Mountain Reliquary solution. Say less, let’s get into it.
What Are Mountain Reliquaries?
Before we get to the solutions, what even are these things?
- The Vibe: They’re these little open-air shrines, usually in a scenic or hidden spot, with a bunch of statues around them. Your job is to figure out which way each statue is supposed to be facing.
- How You’re Supposed to Solve Them: Usually, there’s a clue nearby. It might be a note left on the ground, a pattern in the environment, or a riddle. The game wants you to use your observation skills to figure it out.
- How We’re Gonna Solve Them: Or, you could just use this guide and cheese it. We’re not judging. The loot is the important part.

All Mountain Reliquary Puzzle Solutions
Here are the solutions to the known Mountain Reliquary puzzles. We’ve listed the reward first, so you know what you’re working for.
Reliquary of Courage
- The Loot: Charm of Mount Yōtei
- The Solution: This one is all about paying respect to the big guy. You need to rotate the four nearby wolf statues so that they are all facing towards Mount Yōtei.
- The Deets: Don’t have the statues look at the central reliquary building itself. Instead, look up at the sky and find the giant, snow-capped Mount Yōtei that dominates the horizon. It’s usually the biggest thing you can see. Turn every single one of the four wolf statues until they’re all staring at that majestic peak. Once the last one is in place, you’ll get the pop.

Reliquary of Resilience
- The Loot: Yōtei’s Shelter Hat
- The Solution: This one’s super straightforward. You just need to turn all of the wolf statues to face the reliquary in the center.
- The Deets: Just walk up to every single wolf statue you see in the area and rotate it so it’s looking inwards, directly at the main shrine building. Once all the wolves are paying attention to the reliquary, the puzzle will solve.

Reliquary of Strength
- The Loot: Yōtei’s Charge
- The Solution: This one is a classic “one of these things is not like the other” puzzle. You need to face the wolf statue towards the reliquary and the three oni statues away from it.
- The Deets: Find the lone wolf statue and turn it so it’s looking at the central shrine. Then, go to each of the three oni (demon) statues and turn them so they are all facing away from the shrine, looking out into the wilderness.

The Loot: What You Actually Get
Solving these puzzles isn’t just for fun; the rewards are actually pretty fire.
- Yōtei’s Shelter Hat: A sick new cosmetic to add to your collection. Perfect for completing your wandering ronin drip.
- Charm of Mount Yōtei: This is a fantastic early-game defensive charm. Getting it for free from a quick puzzle is a total win and will make you way tankier.
- Yōtei’s Charge: This is the most hype reward. The name suggests it’s a brand-new spirit skill or special combat technique. Unlocking a whole new move just for solving a quick puzzle is absolutely busted and a must-have for any player.
How to Find More Reliquaries
The game is full of these puzzles. If you want to hunt them down yourself, here’s what to look for.
- Look for Statues: This is the biggest giveaway. As you’re riding through the world, especially in mountainous or secluded areas, keep your eyes peeled for weird clusters of statues. If you see a bunch of wolves just chilling in a circle, you’ve probably found a reliquary.
- Listen for the Music: These special locations often have unique ambient music or a subtle chime that plays when you get close. Turn up your headset and listen to the world.
- Follow the Golden Birds: No cap, the golden birds are your best friend for finding secrets. If you see one, follow it. They are literally designed to lead you to cool, hidden spots just like these reliquaries. Now get out there and start rotating some statues.
