Kaiju No. 8 The Game – Tier List & Reroll Guide

Published October 6, 2025

This is your ultimate launch day guide for KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME. We’re breaking down the full character tier list and giving you a super-fast reroll strategy so you can start your account with the most busted units possible.

Aight, so the KAIJU NO. 8 gacha game has finally dropped, and you know the deal. The first few hours of any new gacha are all about one thing: the reroll grind. You’re not trying to start your journey with some C-tier trash; you want the most OP, game-breaking characters right from the jump.

Say less. This is your definitive day-one guide to getting a fire start. We’re gonna cover the absolute best characters to reroll for, a full tier list of the current meta, and a step-by-step guide to rerolling your account as fast as possible.

The Reroll Guide: How to Get a Busted Start

Rerolling is all about getting the best characters from the very beginning. Here’s who you should be aiming for.

Who Are You Rerolling For? (The Targets)

  • #1 Top Priority: Reno Ichikawa: No cap, this is the character you want. He’s an insane striker who also applies Freeze and restores SP, making him a busted DPS/support hybrid. The biggest reason he’s the top target is that he is not available in the standard gacha pool. Getting him from your starting pulls is a massive head start.
  • The Best Permanent Pulls: Kaiju No. 8 & Gen Narumi: These two are both in the permanent gacha pool, but they’re both SS-tier monsters. If you manage to pull both of them in your first few multi-pulls, that’s a god-tier start, and you should probably stop rerolling right there.
  • The Unkillable Wall: Isao Shinomiya: If you’re not having luck getting Reno, Isao is your next best target. He is currently the only 5-star defender in the game. In a game with very few defenders overall, getting the best one right from the start will make all the early-game content an absolute breeze.

The Reroll Method Step-by-Step

The reroll process in this game is surprisingly chill and player-friendly.

  1. Start the game and clear Chapter 0, Episode 3.
  2. Play through the Gacha & Squad Setup Tutorial.
  3. When the tutorial tells you to “Deploy,” ignore it and go back to the Home Screen.
  4. Go to your Mail and Login Bonus to claim all your free summon tickets.
  5. Head to the Gacha screen and use all your tickets. See what you get.
  6. Not happy with your pulls? Go back to the game’s title screen (before you log in). Find the “Account” section and hit the “Delete Account” button. This will wipe your guest account.
  7. Repeat the process from Step 1 until you get the characters you want.

Pro-Tip for Rerolling: Always use a “Guest” account when you’re rerolling. Don’t link your Google or social media account until you are 100% sure you have a starting roster you want to keep. The “Delete Account” button makes this one of the easiest reroll grinds out there.

KAIJU NO. 8 THE GAME: Full Character Tier List

Here’s a look at the current meta.

Heads-up: You’ll see some characters, like Soshiro Hoshina and Mina Ashiro, appear in multiple tiers. This is because the game has different versions or rarities of the same character (like a 5-star vs. a 4-star), and they have different levels of power.

SS Tier (The Game-Breakers)

These are the most busted units in the game. If you pull one of these, you’ve hit the jackpot.

  • Kaiju No. 8
  • Gen Narumi
  • Reno Ichikawa
  • Sagan Shinomiya
  • Soshiro Hoshina
  • Chester

S Tier (The Powerhouses)

Not quite game-breaking, but these are top-tier units that will carry you through all content.

  • Kikoru Shinomiya
  • Mina Ashiro
  • Soshiro Hoshina
  • Isao Shinomiya

A Tier (The Solid Picks)

These are strong, reliable characters that are great additions to any team.

  • Rin Shinonome
  • Mina Ashiro
  • Soshiro Hoshina
  • Akari Minase
  • Ryo Ikaruga

B Tier (The Benchwarmers)

These units are decent, but you’ll probably replace them as you get better pulls.

  • Kafka Hibino
  • Kikoru Shinomiya
  • Reno Ichikawa
  • Iharu Furuhashi
  • Tae Nakanoshima

C Tier (The Fodder)

These are the common, low-rarity units.

  • Haruichi Izumo
  • Aoi Kaguragi
  • Eiji Hasegawa
  • Keiji Itami
  • Kota Tachibana

Good luck with your pulls, and may the gacha gods be ever in your favor.
