Stuck trying to find the Oxygen Tank blueprint in Little Rocket Lab? Our guide explains what to do when the University runs out of research and how to unlock the next tech tree at the Observatory.
A Guide to Unlocking the Oxygen Tank and Plastic Bar Blueprints.
The Problem: The University Has No More Research
So you’ve hit a progression wall in Little Rocket Lab. You’re ready to explore new frontiers, but you need an Oxygen Tank to do it. The problem is, you’ve researched everything available at the University, and the blueprint is nowhere in sight.
If you’re stuck at this point, don’t worry—your game isn’t bugged. This is actually a key moment in the game’s story that signals you’re ready to move on to the next phase of research and development.
The Solution: A Visit from Elise and the Observatory
The key to unlocking the Oxygen Tank isn’t found in your current research menu. The solution comes from a story event that triggers after you’ve exhausted the University’s tech tree.
Once you’ve completed all the early-game research, you should expect to receive a special visit from a character named Elise. She’s the one who will open up the next chapter of your scientific journey.
Step-by-Step Guide to Unlocking the Oxygen Tank
Ready to get back to building? Here’s a simple checklist of what you need to do to find that elusive blueprint.
- First, make sure you have completed every single available research project at the University. The research queue must be completely empty.
- After finishing your last project, wait for Elise to visit you. This story event should happen automatically.
- Talk to Elise. She’ll have a conversation with you and invite you to the Observatory.
- Head over to the Observatory. This will unlock a brand-new research list with more advanced blueprints.
- You will find the blueprint for the Oxygen Tank waiting for you in this new Observatory research menu.
What Else Unlocks with the Oxygen Tank?
The good news doesn’t stop there. When you unlock the Observatory’s research tree, you get access to more than just the Oxygen Tank.
At the same time, you will also find the blueprint for the Plastic Bar. Both of these key items are located in the same research list, so you’ll be able to unlock a whole new tier of crafting and exploration at once.
