Mon Bazou – Survival Guide: Making Money, Maple Syrup, and Building Your Ride

Mon Bazou – Survival Guide: Making Money, Maple Syrup, and Building Your Ride

Published December 29, 2025

Welcome to East Canada! If you’re jumping into Mon Bazou, you’ve got a lot of syrup to boil and scrap to haul. Whether you are returning for the v1.0 update or just starting out, this guide covers everything from basic survival mechanics to building the ultimate Sugar Shack empire.

General Survival Tips: How Not to Die (or Lose Progress)

Before we start making cash, let’s cover the basics to keep your save file—and your character—safe.

  • Saving the Game: There is no auto-save. You must use the computer in your house to save.
  • The “Lost Item” Fail-safe: Did you lose your Jerry Can? Don’t panic. If you have at least 5 Friendship Points with Gilles (the guy sitting on his porch in town), he will find your lost critical items and leave them in his driveway the next morning.
  • Car Essentials: Always keep a “survival kit” in your vehicle: a bottle of maple syrup, a box of poutine, and some coffee. Walking back to town because you passed out from hunger or thirst is a pain you want to avoid.
  • Tree Management: Trees do not grow back automatically. You must buy Pruning Loppers from the gas station to plant new ones. This is critical for maintaining your maple supply near the Sugar Shack.
  • Camera Hack: Press B while driving to change your perspective. It might break immersion, but it helps navigate tight spots.

How to Make Money in Mon Bazou

You need cash to upgrade your Konig and build your estate. Here are the best methods, ranked from “Starter” to “Empire.”

1. Selling Firewood (The Early Game Grind)

This is the most consistent way to make money early on. You have two main buyers: your Brother and the Sawmill.

  • Your Brother: Buys up to 60 pieces of firewood daily. (Pays ~$400–$500).
  • The Sawmill: Buys up to 50 whole logs daily. (Pays ~$550).

Wood Values:

  • Pine: $90/log | $84/firewood (Drops 6 logs)
  • Birch: $64/log | $80/firewood (Drops 8 logs)
  • Maple: $100/log | $160/firewood (Drops 10 logs)

Pro Tips for Wood Hauling:

  • The Handbrake Trick: Logs slide out if the handbrake is on. Use the Hoist Puller to anchor your truck to a tree instead of using the brake.
  • Uniform Logs: If your logs are messy, save and reload the game. They will spawn in a uniform shape, making them easier to stack.
  • Upgrade Capacity: Visit Francis’ house to get side panels for your truck to carry more wood. Back up over the green circle to unload automatically.

2. Pizza Delivery

Every day between 17:00 and 18:00, head to the restaurant.

  • Put the pizzas in your passenger seat (don’t get out of the car).
  • Drive through the green circles at the delivery locations.
  • Profit: Expect $50–$70 for a quick run. It’s perfect for covering your daily gas money.

3. Street Racing

Between 22:00 and 03:00, the racing crew appears.

  • Entry Fee: $50
  • Win Reward: $100
  • Bonus: Win 5 races in a row to unlock a spoiler for your car.

4. Growing Weed (Passive Income)

Start this immediately. It requires very little effort.

  1. Get Seeds: Climb the windmills (check the eastern one) to find your first 2 seeds.
  2. Get Tools: Buy a harvest basket from the furniture store and grab the shovel from your tool shed.
  3. The Process: Plant, water daily, and harvest. Harvesting drops 1–2 seeds, naturally expanding your farm.
  4. Processing: Use the grinder at your couch. 10% of a basket = 1 pack of joints. Use Blue Tape to bundle 10 packs together.

Selling:

  • Single Pack: $65 (Sell to friends with 5+ friendship points).
  • Bundle (10 packs): $500.
  • The Big Deal: Once you have 27 Big Bundles, take them to the dealer (across the bridge, second right, down a dirt road). This unlocks the Underground Bunker once you save $40,000.

5. Selling Car Radios

Once you unlock the Junkyard (Friendship level 25 with Jacques), right-click radios in scrap cars to remove them.

  • Sell to: Raymond (spawns randomly at night near the abandoned grocery store).
  • Price: $110 per radio.

The Sugar Shack: The Big Money Maker

This is your endgame goal. Here is the step-by-step to liquid gold.

  1. Construction: Drop 64 Pine Logs (approx. 11 trees) on the wooden pallet east of your cottage.
  2. Supplies: Go to the Maple Syrup Foundation (8:00–16:00). Buy tubing, spouts, and a barrel ($200).
  3. Setup:
    • Place spouts in maple trees.
    • Connect trees with tubing (use posts if trees are far apart).
    • Connect the loop to the Pump near the water tank.
  4. Boiling:
    • Run your generator between 9:00 and 16:00 (pump only works when warm).
    • Open the valve inside the shack connecting the tank to the boiler.
    • Fill the evaporator and fire up the furnace with wood and newspaper.
  5. Selling:
    • Once you have 120L, fill a barrel.
    • Sell at the Federation. You get $200 instantly, plus $200 every Sunday for 5 weeks. That is $1,200 per barrel!

The Junkyard & Building the Buggy

Junkyard Finds

Unlock this via Jacques. Inside you will find:

  • Le Missile: A fast car that overheats.
  • Manual Transmission: Required for Konig upgrades.
  • Free Tires: Better than your rusty ones. Mount them on the spot!
  • Konig Bumper: Requires 2 screws to attach.

How to Build the Buggy

You need 6 specific parts to build the buggy frame located near your trailer.

  1. Tubes: Under the table in your wooden shed.
  2. Wheels: Next to the tire pile at the Junkyard.
  3. Steering & Controls: Back of a white scrap car at the Junkyard.
  4. Seat & Plastic: Between sand piles at the beach (look for “PARFAIT” on the map). Also, grab the Welded Diff from the dumpster while you are there.
  5. Engine & Fuel Tank: Found in the entrance of the Cottage (requires purchasing the cottage for $5,299.99).
  6. Drivetrain: Also found in the Cottage entrance.

Enjoy life in East Canada! Remember to keep your tank full, your relationships strong, and your maple syrup boiling.
