Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted – Easy Method to Get the “Sol Invictus” Achievement

Published October 25, 2025 · Updated October 25, 2025

Unlocking the Sol Invictus achievement can be tricky — it requires you to complete the “Last Stand” mini-game with 2000 or more sun remaining.
However, with the right plant setup, it’s totally achievable on your first try.

This guide summarizes psyhovenko’s original Russian strategy, translated and optimized for English players.

☀️ Achievement Overview

Achievement: Sol Invictus
Requirement: Finish the Last Stand mini-game with at least 2000 sun left.
Location: Mini-Games → #16 “Last Stand”

In Last Stand, you start with 5000 sun, no new sunflowers allowed, and must survive 5 flags of zombies.
You gain 250 sun per flag, meaning you can safely spend up to ~4000 sun if you want to stay above the 2000 mark.

🪴 Step 1: Setup and Preparation

Mini-Game: “Last Stand”
Starting Sun: 5000
Waves: 5 (each flag = +250 sun)

Goal: Keep at least 2000 sun at the end while completing the level.

💡 Tip: You can restart the mini-game instantly if your layout fails — no progress loss.

🌾 Step 2: Plant Selection

The key to success is crowd control and sustainability — you don’t want to replant expensive items.
Here’s the recommended setup:

TypePlantReason
Main DamageGloom-ShroomArea-of-effect (AoE) attack kills zombie groups instantly.
Funnel ControlGarlicRedirects zombies into controlled lanes.
DefenseTall-Nut / Wall-NutProtects the core of your setup.
Shield BoostPumpkinReinforces Gloom-Shroom and Garlic positions.
OptionalFume-ShroomCheaper AoE support early on if sun is low.

🧱 Step 3: Field Layout Strategy

Core Idea: Create two main kill lanes using Garlic and Gloom-Shrooms.

🟩 Recommended layout:

  • Place Garlic near the front of your lawn (2nd column from the left).
  • Zombies will be redirected into 2–3 lanes only.
  • Fill those lanes with Gloom-Shrooms in the 3rd and 4th columns.
  • Behind them, use Pumpkins to reinforce.
  • Add Wall-Nuts or Tall-Nuts behind the Gloom-Shrooms for safety.

After setting everything, you should have roughly 1600 sun left, which is perfect.
Throughout the waves, you’ll earn another 1000 sun, putting you comfortably above 2000 at the end.

🧄 Step 4: Managing Garlic (Important Nuance)

Garlic doesn’t last forever. It’s the only plant that will wear out during the match.

  • Replace Garlic immediately when it fades.
  • Don’t waste sun replacing Wall-Nuts or Pumpkins — they should last all 5 flags.
  • Prioritize Garlic replacement every wave.

🔁 By wave 5, most zombies (except Football Zombies) will die before even touching your defenses.

🌞 Step 5: Final Wave and Sun Preservation

  • After the 4th wave, stop planting entirely — just maintain Garlic.
  • By the end of wave 5, you should have ~2200–2500 sun remaining.
  • Once the final zombie falls, the Sol Invictus achievement will unlock immediately.

✅ Final Result

Using this method, psyhovenko (and verified by community players) finished the level with 2200 sun remaining — easily earning Sol Invictus.

It’s efficient, reliable, and works even if you make minor mistakes during the waves.

🏆 Bonus Tip

If you’re aiming for full 100% completion in Plants vs. Zombies: Replanted, combine this with:

  • Wall-Not Attack (ZomBotany without Nuts/Pumpkins)
  • Roll Some Heads (5 zombies with one Wall-Nut)
  • Sproing Sproing (Pogo Party no Tall-Nuts/Magnets)

That’ll cover most of the Mini-Game achievements in one session.
